-  Order salad dressings and sauces on the side, you then have control over how much you consume in your meal.

-  When ordering grilled fish and/or vegetables, ask that the food be grilled without butter or oil, if they won’t/can’t comply ask them to at least limit the amount used.

When you want to rejuvenate your mind,  body, and spirit, you should think about smaller, more frequent snacks and meals.  This helps keep energy levels on an even keel, and regulates blood sugar levels thereby avoiding spikes and dips. Choosing the right combination of foods, your body will get its much-needed boost to sustain itself properly, even through those slumps that always seem to happen in the middle of the afternoon. So dump those sugar laden junk foods and reach for the some of these foods and get that boost you need.

Look for fresh fruit that includ skins or seeds like apples, peaches, oranges, pears, and strawberries are all great sources of vitamins and fiber. When in season (usually summer) choose a peach and get plenty of dietary fiber, niacin (vitamin B3), potassium, beta carotene and vitamin A, plus large amounts of vitamin C. Niacin helps to provide that energy that stimulates cell tissue growtn and regulate fluid balance. The potassium helps maintain the stability of the cells in your heart & nervous system; it’s also important for cell and muscle growth. Vitamin B12 plays a significant role in the formation of red blood cells, nerve function, and metabolizing protein and fat.
